Refugees face some of the most challenging circumstances on earth: war, violence and persecution. Children constitute over half of the world’s refugees. Many of these children are forced into a foreign country, language and culture very rapidly experiencing isolation, language barriers, bullying and post-traumatic stress.
Sport helps to build and heal relationships in a fun and interactive way. Sport also helps reduce stress, provide social integration, promote physical wellness and combat psycho social problems – all challenges that refugee children face.
