Hello everyone! My name is Jade Seguchi and I am the new Spring 2022 Communications Intern.
A bit about me:
I am a senior at the University of Rochester studying International Relations and Business. I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil until I moved to the U.S. to attend school. I am keenly interested in traveling, learning foreign languages and tennis. The moment I first held my brother’s racket in my hands when I was 10, I immediately fell in love with the sport and have been playing it since then. Tennis has had a great impact in my life, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of an organization that works towards creating such an impact on children all around the world. In my free time, I also enjoy reading, cooking and spending time with my friends. I am excited to be joining L.A.C.E.S. and sharing our work in the upcoming months!
What drew me to L.A.C.E.S.:
I have always been interested in joining a nonprofit organization whose values spoke to me, so when I came across the L.A.C.E.S. internship, I was immediately drawn to the organization. Its mission of empowering children through sports and integrating the local community into the program stood out to me, especially taking into consideration my personal journey with sports. At that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of this incredible organization. The opportunity to work with a greatly diverse and inspiring staff across the globe is also thrilling and I cannot wait to see what I will learn throughout my internship experience.
